«The place of crime.

Before the crime, it's just a place.

Places that are valid only for those who live there,

for those who fill them with the repetitive and conventional gestures of everyday life.

Then, the crime breaks in.

Newspapers, magazines, televisions seize it.

They scrutinize it, they tell it.

And suddenly that place becomes the place of crime.

Almost like a movie set»

28 portraits of crime scenes in Rome from 1966 to 1997.

The photos were taken over the course of 2017, nearly always at sunrise, with an absence of people and to portray the place in all its essence: dry, absolute, emptied, metaphysical, suspended between normality and madness, past and present.
